In the land of helicopter sulfur drops, Mosel, Jakob Tennstedt is doing something different and painstakingly manual. Wald Portier is coming from an old vine parcel located behind the famously steep Riesling slopes, and closer to the forest. Aged for two years in large casks and with absolutely zero additions, this is something stellar—rich and vibrant all in one. Jakob’s Riesling is something we have grown to love with a verve not often felt for Rieslings outside of the Schueller sphere. A must for the upcoming holiday table.
