J-F Ginglinger
Alsace, France

Spurred on by the disastrous 2021 vintage in his part of Alsace, J-F Ginglinger seems to be hitting a stride right now; his 2021 Sélection cuvées (sorry, they were gone before I had time to put them on the site) surprised even the most disengaged palates, and now a small selection of his 22s prove why he’s held in the same esteem by heads as his cousin Bruno Schueller. Ginglinger’s wines are affordable and yet serious, and while I do think the nosey caricature of himself on the label dissuades many from taking his wines seriously, I can’t imagine a more formal label representing these no bullshit and just straight up enjoyable Alsatian elixirs.
