Es d’Aqui
Jean-Louis Pinto
Languedoc, France
Similar to Anthony Tortul of La Sorga, or the newer school Le Nez de Goth of Olivier Boulin, Jean-Louis Pinto’s Es d’Aqui project takes the idea of négociant wine to its ultimate conclusion. Working yearly and closely with the same growers, there is a structure in place that allows Pinto to then work freely in the cellar each year, fine tuning each cuvée to the facts of the vintage, and in the end creating wines with a voice not oft found, even by growers themselves. Every year Es d’Aqui’s wines hit that sweet spot that we crave of heady simplicity—light reds and textural whites all with depth and lift, perfectly suited for a table inhabited by friends any night or day.
