Pierre Mang

Burgundy, France

Pierre Mang’s résumé speaks for itself—Valette, Jouveaux, Bizot. But as Pierre himself is a quiet and humble, nuanced sort of character, so are his singular wines that don’t directly reference any of his mentors outside of their shared spirits. In just a short few years Mang’s bottles have become coveted and revered, and it’s for obvious reason at first sips; weightless Pinot and lush terroir driven Chardonnays. Frankly, Pierre’s wines are hitting in the direction that I wish most recent Alexandre Jouveaux cuvées were, and they disclose a young master just beginning to get it done. Smart ones will both imbibe now as well as save for later.
