Jerome Guichard’s wines exist somewhere in the stratosphere via the Macon; completely unclassifiable renditions of Chardonnay that are really only analagous to the wines of his former boss Guy Blanchard. I want to make some kind of comparison to his friend and neighbor Philippe Jambon here, but honestly it’s impossible. Montbled 20 feels like Jerome’s white wines at their most meditative and still—all VA finesse and sour apple candies uplifting your soul.
