Lisa Le Postec is an Auvergnat from Clermont-Ferrand, whom besides spending time in places like New Zealand and California learning the ropes of winemaking and viticulture, worked as a wine agent in Paris under Fleur Godart, and two years under the guidance of another Auvergnat, Patrick Bouju. It was under Bouju that Lisa found the inspiration to begin her own winemaking activity, and after two years of running a négociant project with her partner Paul Aublet called L’eau Qui Dort, she launched her own domaine in Issoire, central Auvergne in 2023. Lisa grows Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gamay du Beaujolais and Gamay d’Auvergne on her own estate, and in 2025 she also purchased fruit from a couple of old-school growers in Auvergne after a rough 2024 growing season in which she made only one wine, the sublime La Barberie. In both the vineyard and the cellar, Lisa—who is also an oenologist—is exacting, and her uncompromising nature comes out in her beautifully gourmet wines that present another essential piece of the ever-changing Auvergne puzzle. Though we are a fan of all of her cuvées, there is something very special about her touch with Pinot Gris, a grape that we have a real fondness for when grown in the Auvergne.
