Adele Coguic is an incredibly spirited independent vigneronne working in Brissac-Loire-Aubance, one of the many post codes within the web of Anjou outposts. She picks her grapes ripe, preferring an acidity and level of fruit that could only come with patience and instinct. The results are emphatic bottles with strong senses of place that go down so easily, and yet at the same time demand a level of reflection from its end-user; just how we like our wines. We were introduced to her by our friend Alexandre Guillaume who spent time working with Adele at Didier Chaffardon, and while the free spirit of Didier is evident in her practice, it is quite clear to us that Coguic is on a beautiful path of her own—another angevin gem in our catalogue.
