Mada
Edouard Adam (Languedoc, France)

Edouard Adam’s Mada domaine continues to release the sort of easy going southern French wines that I feel like most of us, in our unicorn-seeking worst selves, are taking for granted these days. Khallina is a pleasingly mineral directly pressed Clairette Blanche that recalls slow days by the sea, and Substance (I always thought this a Joy Division reference?) is one of those trickster directly pressed Syrah’s that I used to drink in lieu of anything Jura back in the day. Both perfect for apéro, as interims between main event bottles, or whatever; for no reason other than wanting to enjoy some nice juice—deliciously unpretentious stuff from the Languedoc.
